【摘要】:Aproperlycollectedsamplethatincludesthetotalcoalbedintervalprovidesasamplethatisarepresentativecrosssectionofthecoalbedatthepointofsampling.Coresamplesaretakenforsubsequenttestingneededforevaluationofcoalqualityandcharacterizationforcommercialevaluations,forplanningofminingoperationstomaintaincoalquality,forthedeterminationofcoalrankinaccordancewithClassificationD388,andforgeologiccoalresourcestudies.Note18212;Becauseofthepotentialforlateralvariability,asamplemaynotrepresentthequalityofthecoalbedatanothersamplepoint.Thereliabilityofthedatageneratedfromcoresamplesisdependentonthenumberandspacingofthesamplepointsandthevariabilityofthecoalcharacteristicsinagivenarea.Moisturedetermineddirectlyfromacoresampleshallbeconsideredquestionableinanycoresamplebecauseofpossiblecontaminationfromdrillingfluidsandgroundwater.Ifamorerepresentativeestimateoftheinherentmoisturecontentofthecoresample(withtheexceptionofcertainlow-rankcoals)isdesired,thesampleshouldbeanalyzedaccordingtoTestMethodD1412.1.1Thispracticedescribesproceduresforcollectingandhandlingacoalsamplefromacorerecoveredfromaborehole.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
